2012 Save A Sato golf Marathon is in the books and from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm on Monday June 25, 2012 I completed 279 holes.  Playing the golf course in sequential order from the white tees, I made 2 eagles, 50 birdies, 175 pars, 45 bogies, 6 double bogies and a triple bogie, for a total of 7 over par 1123 to a par of 1116.  Thank you to all those who assisted in this effort including but not limited to Favio Alvarado, Bernabe Alvarado, Robert Holmes, Edgardo Alegria, and Jeffrey Pino.  Thank you to all those individuals who donated on a per hole basis to Save a Sato, and remember it is not too late, go to www.saveasato.org and give to their www.paypal.com account, $.01 per hole would be $2.79, $.05 per hole would be $13.95, $.10 per hole would be $27.90, or a $.25 per hole would be $69.75, thanks to those sponsors who have pledged a $1.00 per hole Bryan Shames, Rooms to Go, Aaron West.  Keep a look out for next years Save a Sato event tentatively scheduled for Friday, June 21, 2012 and the potential Puerto Rico record breaking Golf Marathon Monday, June 24, 2012.
Thanks again

Inappropriate Absence

Three years is too long to be away from something, especially your blog. Not sure this even counts anymore! How to you com back from an absence like that, an outrageous post, crazy pictures, unbelievable life changes? Those are all excuses for a blog post but not rel reasons for grinding out a blog post. 1. I am still Da Gringo, 2. This is still my blog, so I'm back! So that's, that!

Buying houses, playing bad golf and living the dream

Well I think I may have officially become an adult. I turned thirty this month and bought a house. Both were very tramatic. Well not really bu they should have been. The house thing so far has been pretty painless and I worked 15 hours on my birthday, so it's like it never happened right?

Homeless

Well they finally did it. My home for 3 plus years has been turned to rubble. Currently shacking up with Bobby ha Cha Cha, but that golden fleece has also been ripped from under me. For some reason the Kemper Sports Regime does not want one of there former employees in their current employees staff housing. Makes sense to me, so it's a ticking clock until I am thrust into the cold harsh world that is Dorado, P.R.

Long Time Gone

Just in case anyone still checks this magic show of a blog out, I'm apologizing for the extreme lay-over from my last post. In the six months since my last post, I have been off the Island of Puerto Rico 3 times, Aruba, St. Thomas and Michigan. I've been "restructured out of the organization"at Dorado Beach and hired as Director of Golf of Dorado Del Mar, 2 miles down the street. I passed the milestone of 3 years in my current relationship with the little Puerto Rican girl, only 3-4 times as long as any other relationship I've ever had. I've seen staff housing dwindle down to 3 residences (Robert, Jose Cedeno, and Brad Boyd "Mayor McCheese") I moved out of my apartment in staff housing July 28th, because they were going to tear it down, as of this day November 8th, the building still stands. Fortunately for me, they moved me in with Bobby Cha Cha Cha, and I am still a Hyatt Dorado Beach staff housing resident.
I've seen a dead body, a 25 year old man go through the balding process, I've seen Brian Brown naked and with a penis drawn on his face. I had a going away party, and am still here. All and all a good last six months

Lack of Gringo files

Well the last month or so has been a little sad because the gringos are dwindling. Some we expected to see leave, others we were glad got out and still others knew it was their time to go. We wish all the gringos back in gringoville a happy and safe experience. Just remember you got no Pizza Boy, no Senor Frog's, no monthly Pro-Am's, no kicking Richard's ass on the golf course, no beach volleyball with the Cha, No titties, Tobicho, Bar None, Little Richard, Joctor, El Ocho, no warthogs (o.k. Toby maybe in your case a few warthogs), no Bailey's, no Television stars hanging out with ya, no Kerry Kittles, no Casa Bavaria, No Sess, No Pauly Sunshine, no Caribe Golf, no cockfights, and finally NO MEDALLA LIGHT.
Adios Gringos
